Tyrolean House – Museum of the Mountain Spirit

📍 Mysłakowice, PL€€ Moderate

The Tyrolean House – Museum of the Mountain Spirit is a historic building in Mysłakowice, in the Jelenia Góra Valley. It was built in the 1830s as one of 65 Tyrolean houses erected for Protestant refugees from Tyrol. The building was restored in the 1990s thanks to the efforts of the Austrian deputy mayor of Mayrhofen and diplomatic support. Today it houses a museum opened in 2021, dedicated to the Mountain Spirit – Liczyrzepa, a legendary figure of the Karkonosze Mountains. The exhibition features over 800 items, including paintings and a one-tonne sculpture. A separate room tells the story of Tyrolean emigrants, with models, maps, and documents from the Innsbruck archive. The museum is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11:00 to 18:00. On-site amenities include parking, a garden, and a terrace. The property also offers accommodation in five rooms (single and double) with free WiFi. It is a place for families, couples, groups, and seniors interested in local history and legends.
