Bacówka pod Bereśnikiem is a mountain shelter located in the Beskid Sądecki range, in the Radziejowa massif, above the town of Szczawnica. Although often associated with the Pieniny mountains, it actually lies outside them, though in their immediate vicinity. The hike from Szczawnica takes about an hour, and the trail leads through the charming Dietl Square with its fountain and sculpture of a woman with a jug. Along the way, you can enjoy views of the surrounding hills and valleys. The shelter itself is known for its friendly atmosphere and good food, which makes many visitors stay longer than planned. It is worth climbing the nearby Bryjarka hill, where seven mineral springs rise, contributing to Szczawnica's development as a spa town. A cross stands at the summit, and the hill is depicted in the town's coat of arms. From the shelter, you can plan a loop, descending via the black trail, for example past the Zaskalnik Waterfall or through the streets Bereśnik and Połoniny. The whole trip can take up to half a day, especially if you decide to rest at the shelter. It is an excellent idea for a family outing or a trip with a larger group.
