Bolków Castle is a medieval stronghold located in Bolków in Lower Silesia, rising on Castle Hill (396 m above sea level) above the town. Built in the 13th century, the first mentions date back to 1277, when it belonged to Duke Bolesław II the Horned of Legnica. His son, Bolko I the Strict, expanded the castle, adding powerful defensive walls and a gate system. A distinctive feature is the unique in Poland beak tower, 25 meters high, which served both for defense and as a prison with a starvation dungeon. In later years, the castle was expanded in the Renaissance style, including the construction of the Ladies' House. Currently, the castle houses a museum open to visitors. From the walls, there is a picturesque view of the Kaczawskie Mountains and the Central Sudetes. This place is interesting for history enthusiasts, architecture lovers, and families with children (aged 6 and above). The castle is open seasonally, offering paid parking, guided tours, a café, and WiFi access. Events such as Castle Party are also organized here.
