# Dubantowska Polana

Dubantowska Polana is a picturesque grassy clearing in the Little Pieniny Mountains, situated at an elevation of about 646 m above sea level, just above the upper end of the Homole Gorge. It lies within the village of Jaworki in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in the Szczawnica commune. The clearing is surrounded on three sides by rocky elevations, among which the Kamienne Księgi (Stone Books) and Czajakowa Skała stand out. It is a popular resting spot for hikers traversing the trail through the Homole Gorge nature reserve. The clearing features tables and benches, as well as a stone educational path leading around the clearing, past Czajakowa Skała. According to local legends, the Kamienne Księgi are rocks with mysterious markings that are said to record human destinies; no one has been able to decipher them, and a priest who succeeded was struck mute. In the vicinity, one can encounter the rare Apollo butterfly. A hiking trail passes through the clearing, leading from Jaworki through the Homole Gorge, Dubantowska Polana, Jemeriska, Za Potok, and Polana pod Wysoką to Wysokie Skałki. This is an ideal place for a short break and enjoying the nature of the Pieniny, accessible to families and groups.
