Gołąb - Museum of Unusual Bicycles and Museum of Drunkenness

Gołąb is a small town in the Puławy commune, located about 120 km from Warsaw. It is home to the private Museum of Unusual Bicycles, run personally by Mr. Józef Konstanty Majewski. Visiting requires prior arrangement by phone, and a tour can last over two hours. Mr. Józef passionately tells the stories of the exhibits, which he either built himself or acquired, and visitors can ride them. It's a great attraction for families and school trips. The same place houses the only private Museum of Drunkenness in Poland, with a collection of bottles in unusual shapes, which will appeal more to adults. Nearby, about 100 meters away, stands a church in the Dutch Renaissance style with defensive elements, considered one of the most beautiful in the country. Look out for gargoyles, defensive balconies, and a figure of St. James. Another landmark is the Loreto House from 1634-1638, built as a copy of the House of Mary in Nazareth, with a distinctive house-within-a-house structure. A visit can be planned for a day or an afternoon, and between the museum and the church there is the Nepomucen restaurant offering dishes for children.
