Malbork Castle

Malbork Castle is an impressive Gothic fortress located in northern Poland, in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, on the Nogat River. It is the largest brick castle in Europe, built by the Teutonic Order after moving its capital from Venice in 1309. The castle was never captured in battle – it came into Polish hands only in the 15th century, when it was bought from Teutonic mercenaries. For centuries, it served as a residence for Polish kings. Visiting the castle takes at least four hours, and with an audio guide you can explore its secrets at your own pace. Inside, you will find halls with old weapons and armor that will delight young history enthusiasts. In the courtyard, you can rest and try local pastries. There is an additional fee to climb the tower, from which you can enjoy a view of the surroundings. It is also worth visiting the castle bakery and the royal gardens, which are an oasis of peace.
