Mirsk

Mirsk is a town in a picturesque spa region, near the Polish-Czech border, about 30 km north of the Izera Mountains. Its history dates back to the 12th century, and it was granted town rights before 1337. The medieval urban layout is preserved. The main landmark is the town hall with a Renaissance tower from the 16th century. Inside the Church of the Annunciation, you can see a wooden Madonna and Child from the 15th century, a Renaissance alms chest, a classicist baptismal font, and a 19th-century organ. Other sights include the former district court, St. Barbara's chapel from the 17th/18th century, and ruins of an evangelical church from 1757. A former water tower turned observation tower offers a 40 m high panoramic view. Perfect for history and architecture lovers, and a gateway to the Izera Mountains. Visit duration: 1–3 hours.
