Mylna Cave

Mylna Cave is one of the most mysterious underground attractions in the Tatra Mountains, located in the Kościeliska Valley in Kościelisko, within the Raptawicka Turnia massif. Although less popular than Mroźna Cave, it offers unforgettable experiences for adventure seekers. The approach from the valley floor takes about 15 minutes, and the cave passage itself about 30 minutes, making it an ideal short excursion. Inside, it is dark, damp, and muddy, so bringing your own lighting is essential. The trail is one-way and leads through numerous narrow corridors that require crawling on your knees. The cave's name comes from the maze of passages where it is easy to get lost. Legend has it that Janosik himself hid here. The cave was first explored and described only in 1885 by Jan Gwalbert Pawlikowski, who named it and some of its corridors, such as Biała Ulica, Wielka Izba, and Chóry. Half a century later, the Zwoliński brothers discovered more passages, and in 1948/49, the northern entrance was dug out. Nearby, there are other caves like Obłazkowa and Raptawicka that can also be visited. This is a great attraction for families, adults, and teenagers, open all year round, with free parking and close to public transport.
