# Promenade by the Grajcarek

The Promenade by the Grajcarek in Szczawnica is the longest pedestrian walkway in Poland, stretching about 1,800 meters along the picturesque Grajcarek stream, which separates the Pieniny Mountains from the Beskid Sądecki range. Completed in 2011, the route runs from the lower station of the cable car to Palenica to the point where the Grajcarek meets the Dunajec River. You can stroll on both banks – one side features a walking and cycling path, while the other offers a wide promenade with relaxation areas. The walkway is completely car-free, making it safe for families with children, seniors, and people with disabilities. Along the route, there are benches, gazebos, and viewing terraces from which you can admire mountain peaks and watch the swift current of the stream. In the evening, the promenade is beautifully illuminated, inviting romantic walks. Four picturesque bridges cross the stream: the Lovers' Bridge, the Michał Słowik-Dzwon Bridge, the Brigands' Bridge, and the Raftsmen's Bridge. Near the cycling path, you'll find stones commemorating famous climbers, including Jerzy Kukuczka. The area offers cafes, ice cream parlors, and restaurants serving regional dishes, as well as an outdoor gym, sports fields, and a playground for children. The promenade is open year-round, admission is free, and the flat terrain makes walking easy. Parking is available on Pienińska Street and near the cable car station, and it's about a 15-minute walk from the center of Szczawnica.
