Uranium Mine in Kletno

5·2 today · 2 / 7 days · 2 / 30 days
📍 Kletno, PL🕒 Up to 1 hour€ Budget

The Uranium Mine in Kletno is a former uranium ore mine located in the Śnieżnik Massif in the Eastern Sudetes, within the Śnieżnik Landscape Park. Today it operates as a museum offering guided tours. The tourist route runs through a section of the adits, where visitors can see natural minerals such as fluorite, amethyst, and quartz. The mine maintains a constant temperature of about 7°C, and the ground is damp and slippery, so warm clothing and sturdy footwear are recommended. The tour lasts approximately 40 minutes, with groups of up to 20 people. Free parking is available on site. The mine is radiologically safe – the only 'glowing' items are a collection of glass vessels containing uranium, which fluoresce green under UV light. It is a family-friendly attraction, though children must wear safety helmets. Open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM). Tickets: regular 20 PLN, reduced 16 PLN, children under 3 free. Advance phone reservation is advised.
