Museum of the Battle of Legnica in Legnickie Pole

The Museum of the Battle of Legnica in Legnickie Pole is a branch of the Copper Museum in Legnica, dedicated to one of the most important battles in medieval Poland. It is housed in a historic post-Benedictine church of the Holy Trinity and the Virgin Mary, built in the second half of the 14th century. According to tradition, the church was erected on the spot where the body of Duke Henry II the Pious was found; he died in the battle against the Mongols on 9 April 1241. The permanent exhibition, titled 'A Meeting of Two Worlds. The Memory of the Battle of Legnica 1241', presents the history of the Mongol invasion and the battle itself. Visitors can see medieval weapons, knightly equipment, and memorabilia related to the battle. The museum also runs educational activities, offering museum lessons and workshops for school groups. It is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 11:00 AM–5:00 PM, with free admission on Wednesdays. This place is interesting for history enthusiasts as well as families with children who want to learn about the medieval history of Silesia.
