Museum of the Carmelite Fathers in Kraków Na Piasku

The Museum of the Carmelite Fathers in Kraków Na Piasku is located in the monastery at 19 Karmelicka Street. It was established in the 1980s, and its collections are displayed in the historic sacristy hall known as the Treasury. The interior features 17th-century stucco decorations on the vault and three paintings referring to the monastery's history. The exhibition includes documents such as papal bulls and royal privileges, as well as confraternity books. A significant part consists of old prints and a collection of liturgical vessels, including richly decorated monstrances, chalices, and reliquaries. Particularly valuable is a set of vestments, among which stands out a cope made of Turkish velvet, donated by King John III Sobieski as a votive offering for the victory at Vienna. The museum also gathers objects from Carmelite monasteries suppressed after World War II in the eastern territories. Visits are possible for organized groups (up to about 20 people) by prior arrangement via email. Individual visitors can see it during the annual Cracovia Sacra event held on August 14–15.
