Table Mountains National Park

Table Mountains National Park is one of the most interesting national parks in Lower Silesia, located in the Eastern Sudetes, right next to the Czech border, near Kudowa Zdrój. Its uniqueness stems from the extraordinary terrain – it is the only table mountain range in Poland, where erosion has carved fantastic rock formations. The park is crossed by a dense network of hiking and cycling trails, including a section of the red Main Sudeten Trail. The best base is Karłów, from where it is close to Szczeliniec Wielki (919 m above sea level), the highest peak of the Table Mountains. The ascent leads along stone steps hewn in the 19th century, and at the top you will find the famous rock formation Wielbłąd (Camel) and Piekiełko – a deep crevice where snow can be seen even in June. Another attraction is Błędne Skały (The Errant Rocks) – a rock labyrinth of corridors and crevices in the Skalniak massif (915 m above sea level), where you have to squeeze through narrow passages between blocks over a dozen metres high. It is also worth visiting Niknąca Łąka (The Vanishing Meadow) – a picturesque raised bog located at an altitude of 720 m, crossed by a 400-metre-long wooden boardwalk. The park also offers other curiosities, such as Skalne Grzyby (Rock Mushrooms), Radkowskie Skały (Radków Rocks), Skały Puchacza (Eagle Owl Rocks) or the Wodospady Pośny (Pośna Waterfalls). Visiting the main routes is paid – tickets are purchased for Szczeliniec Wielki and Błędne Skały; to Błędne Skały you can take a shuttle to the upper car park (fee 30 PLN per car, 2021). It is an ideal place for families, school trips and anyone who appreciates mountain hikes among extraordinary rock forms.
