Szroterowska Tenement House in Kraków

Szroterowska Tenement House is a historic tenement house located in Kraków, in the Old Town district, at Grodzka Street 36. It was built in the 14th century, and in 1412 its owner was an apothecary named Georg. The name "Szroterowska Tenement House" first appeared in sources in 1642. Between 1665 and 1685, part of the building was occupied by the Sisters of the Holy Spirit. The tenement was damaged during the great fire of Kraków in 1850, but was soon rebuilt according to the design of Stanisław Gołębiowski. In the 1930s, the company "Mondare i Enrlich" was located there. Since 1945, the building has been state property. In 1967, the tenement was entered into the register of monuments, and it is also listed in the municipal register of monuments. The site is interesting for history and architecture enthusiasts, and its location in the Old Town makes it easy to visit during a walk around Kraków.
