Biała Woda and Rozdziela Pass

Biała Woda and Rozdziela Pass is a charming nature reserve in the Pieniny Mountains, located near the village of Jaworki, a few kilometres from Szczawnica. It is an ideal place for an easy, family-friendly walk along the valley floor, among limestone rocks and greenery. The trail is gentle, without steep climbs, so it can be done with children or even a pram. Along the way, there is a small chapel with a distinctive dome, a remnant of the Lemko people who once lived here but were displaced in 1947. The reserve was established in 1963 and takes its name from the Biała Woda stream. While walking, it is worth noticing Smolegowa Rock, which from a certain angle resembles the back of a dinosaur. At the end of the valley, you can climb to the scenic Rozdziela Pass, offering beautiful views of the surrounding peaks. Near the car park, there is also a geological curiosity – Basalt Rock, which is unusual for this area. This is a quieter alternative to more crowded spots in the Pieniny, such as Homole Gorge or the Three Crowns. Parking is paid and self-service, and buses run from Szczawnica.
