Bolesław Krzywousty Hill

Bolesław Krzywousty Hill, formerly known as Hausberg, is an elevation in Jelenia Góra associated with the legend of the city's founding by Bolesław Krzywousty between 1108 and 1111. According to tradition, the duke built a fortified castle here, although no visible ruins or walls have survived to this day. The castle's existence is confirmed by medieval documents, including those from 1291, 1299, and 1312, where it appears under the name Hyrzberk. The hill offers picturesque views of the surrounding area and is a popular spot for walkers. Visitors can relax in nature, learn about the region's history, and search for traces of the former stronghold. This attraction is free and open year-round, making it an ideal short outing for families, couples, and organized groups. A public transport stop is nearby, facilitating access.
