Teatr Zdrojowy in Duszniki-Zdrój is a historic building erected between 1802 and 1805, when spas began to need entertainment venues for their guests. It was designed by architect Geissler, with construction led by carpenter Kretschmer and mason Stiller. The theatre was built together with three other buildings around the spa square and has been preserved in excellent condition. It is open to visitors daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM for a symbolic fee, and each guest receives a commemorative postcard with a special stamp of the theatre. It was here, in August 1946, on the 120th anniversary of Frédéric Chopin's concert in Duszniki, that the first Chopin Festival took place. Since then, every year in early August, the venue becomes the heart of classical music, bringing together pianists, educators, and critics from around the world. The International Chopin Festival is one of the oldest ongoing piano festivals globally. Throughout the year, the theatre hosts spa concerts, intimate performances, and musical evenings. Due to its strong connection with the composer, the building is often called Chopin's Manor. It is an ideal place for music lovers as well as those interested in the history and architecture of the spa town.
